Hall, who did not to attend the remote hearing and was not being represented, denied using unnecessary and excessive and/or physical force and causing injury to the boy during the incident, but admitted grabbing the boy’s arms, pushing the boy into a wall, swearing at the boy, and not taking the necessary steps to defuse the incident.

The decision of the committee has snow been published online by the EWC. The committee found the following allegations proved that on or around 13 July 2022 Hall :

  • B. Pushed Learner A backwards;
  • C. Pushed Learner A into a wall;
  • D. Did not take steps to remove himself from the situation with Learner A and/or de-escalate the situation prior to the physical contact with Learner A.
  • By reason of his conduct in paragraphs A, B and C above used unnecessary and/or excessive physical force

The fitness to practise committee, sitting remotely on February 4-6 also found the allegations found proved amounted to unacceptable professional conduct.
